After a sell-out autumn, Basement Galley is back with The Underground Supper Club in 2015. We've stocked up on heaters and blankets for the winter to serve you some delicious tasting menus this winter!
We started our first supper club in our own flat in Brixton a few years ago and it's what we love doing. We have now taken the Victoria Line to the Walthamstow Pumphouse Transport Museum where we host our flagship supper club in a decommissioned 1967 Victoria Line carriage. Enjoy our ever changing 5-course tasting menu and become friends with strangers all with a passion for good food like you.
Head Chef Alex Cooper is a graduate of the Le Cordon Bleu School, Paris, training under some of France’s top chefs, During his studies Alex worked at the AA-Rosette winning Rufflets Hotel and evenset up a catering company. Most recently Alex was invited to work at two Michelin Star "Sketch" on Conduit Street, London. He is backed up fellow Cordon Bleu graduates and an army of gregarious waiters.
Catering for your beverage needs, we are now working in partnership with Shottails (www.shottails.co.uk), Shoreditch's cutting edge pop-up bar staffed by some of the city's hottest mixologists. We will be offering a carefully selected menu of wines, cocktails and soft drinks on the night.
Will I be sitting next to people I know?
Despite silver service and high-end food, we're a supper club, not a restaurant. We will try to accomodate people who book together close to each other, but please be prepared for sitting next to the odd stranger as well due to the layout of the carriage: we have found time and time again that guest who get to know fellow diners in this way get the most out of the evening!
Is there a dress code?
We want you to feel comfortable. Some people like to dress up a bit but others choose the t-shirt and jeans options. We just want you to enjoy your evening!
Is this a BYOB event?
Our bar will be offering a carefully selected menu of wines, cocktails and soft drinks on the night.
Do you cater for special dietary requirements?
Yes, we do!
Our menu changes very regularly and we want as many people to enjoy our food as possible. In the booking form you will be asked for each guest's name and specific dietary requirements. Please note: unless we know in advance about any dietary needs we may not be able to provide on the night as cooking and storage facilities are very limited at the venue.
