The Undiscovered Vineyards of Sardinia: Wine Lunch
Sat 22 July 2017, 15:00 – 17:00 BST
Sardinian wines have gained a reputation like the terrain on which they grow – a little rough. Wine cultivation for personal consumption is embedded in Sardinian culture. Families have been producing their own wine for centuries. Perhaps most renowned for its Vermentino and Cannonau, the second largest island in the Mediterranean boasts a number of indigenous varieties. There are many differences between Sardinian wines and those from mainland Italy due to factors such as the climate, the salty air and the strong winds. This wine lunch will introduce you to some of the most interesting wineries on the island, the wines will be carefully paired with a Sardinian inspired menu created by Petersham Nurseries Head Chef, Damian Clisby.
