Mayah Riaz will be our keynote speaker for the event. Mayah is an award-winning business woman, a business owner, a company Director but ultimately she is self-made.

Mayah started her first business at the age of 16 creating handmade greeting cards and wedding stationery. It became an instant success, with Mayah’s cards being stocked in local stores and wedding orders flooding in. Two years into the business, Mayah had to make the decision to give up the business and go to university. She didn't know what she wanted to study but chose the path of Primary Teaching as she was good with children.University was not for her, neither was teaching. So after 3 years she decided to leave university and return home to Nottingham. She started temping at a local county council office, which was in the basement of the building. It was one day during her lunch break that she realised she was buying lots of magazines but they weren't really doing anything for her. It was then Mayah decided to launch her own lifestyle magazine. She had no knowledge of the industry, no contacts and no money. But she wasn't going to let that stop her from pursing it.

With a lot of handwork and persistence Mayah launched DEEN magazine. The cover shoot was held at Westbury Mayfair on Bond Street. Footage of the cover shoot went around the world on Fashion TV. She had articles in the magazine written by a Gladiator, Gucci’s granddaughter, Scott Henshall and lots of others. Realising that the magazine would not be sustainable, Mayah started working behind the scenes for a TV station.

Whilst at the TV station, she was asked to contact James Caan, from Dragon’s Den to be part of a campaign they had. James’ team weren't interested in the campaign. However, they wanted her to speak to them about social media and how it would work for their business. Mayah then ended up training James’ teams on social medial. He then hired her as his PR. However, Mayah didn't have a business at this stage.

With James being her first client, she quickly launched her company. With having James Caan as her client, she was approached by numerous BBC’s The Apprentice candidates and did their PR. From this, it led to her taking on more and more well-known clients. She expanded her services to offering Management too.

Fast forward 10 years, Mayah now runs a successful PR and Celebrity Management agency, looking after the reputation of some of the top names in the world of business, TV and showbiz. She has never had a website nor paid for any marketing yet her agency has a waiting list of clients.

Mayah has worked with many celebrities and was even a guest of Meghan's at the Royal Wedding.
