Gwerth gwirfoddoli yn Gymraeg a thros y Gymraeg

Ynglŷn â’r digwyddiad hwn:

Gwirfoddoli yw un o’r lliaws o weithgareddau lle gall unigolion gael eu hannog a’u cefnogi i ddefnyddio, ymarfer, dysgu a hyrwyddo’r Gymraeg. Mae miloedd o wirfoddolwyr eisoes yn defnyddio’u Cymraeg yn eu rhyngweithiadau gwirfoddoli ag eraill, boed hynny fel cyfeillachwyr neu swyddogion cymorth cyntaf gwirfoddol, ond mae gan lawer o bobl eraill sgiliau Cymraeg nad ydynt yn cael cyfle i’w defnyddio.

Yn y sesiwn hon, a gyflwynir gan Owen Derbyshire (bywgraffiad isod), bydd panel o westeion yn cael eu gwahodd i edrych ar fuddion defnyddio’r Gymraeg (waeth pa mor rhugl) i wirfoddolwyr, y mudiadau y mae’r unigolion yn gwirfoddoli â nhw ac i’r gymuned ehangach. Bydd y panel yn rhannu eu profiadau personol o’u gwirfoddoli yn Gymraeg neu dros y Gymraeg, a syniadau da ar sut i annog gwirfoddolwyr i ddefnyddio’u sgiliau Cymraeg.

Bydd y gynulleidfa yn cael ei chyflwyno i amrediad o adnoddau a all helpu mudiadau i ddenu siaradwyr Cymraeg neu gael budd o’r sgiliau a allai fod yn bresennol eisoes, a bydd cyfle i gysylltu â mudiadau sy’n gallu rhoi arweiniad ar y pwnc hwn.

Mae’r sesiwn yn bartneriaeth rhwng CGGC a Chomisiynydd y Gymraeg a bydd yn ddwyieithog.

Math o sesiwn:

Bydd y sesiwn yn ddigwyddiad panel, gyda phob siaradwr yn cael ei wahodd i siarad am y pwnc a rhannu ei safbwynt. Bydd hyn yn cael ei ddilyn gan sesiwn holi ac ateb gan y gynulleidfa, a gwahoddir chi fel rhan o’r cofrestriad hwn i gyflwyno cwestiynau.

Diben y digwyddiad hwn:

Galluogi mudiadau gwirfoddoli i ddeall y buddion a’r arferion da o ddenu a chroesawu siaradwyr Cymraeg i’w mudiadau.

Ynglŷn â CGGC:

CGGC yw’r corff aelodaeth cenedlaethol i fudiadau gwirfoddol yng Nghymru. Rydym yn bodoli i alluogi mudiadau gwirfoddol i wneud mwy o wahaniaeth gyda’n gilydd ac mae’n hyrwyddwr arferion da mewn rheoli gwirfoddolwyr..

Ynglŷn ag Owen Derbyshire

Ymgynghorydd busnes o Gaerdydd yw Owen Derbyshire. Mae hefyd yn ymddiriedolwr gyda Shelter Cymru, yn gyfarwyddwr anweithredol i S4C ac yn aelod o Gyngor Partneriaeth y Gymraeg (Llywodraeth Cymru).

Ynglŷn â Swyddfa Comisiynydd y Gymraeg

Nod Comisiynydd y Gymraeg yw sicrhau y gall pobl yng Nghymru fyw eu bywydau drwy gyfrwng y Gymraeg os ydynt yn dymuno gwneud hynny. Mae rhan o’r gwaith hwn yn cynnwys codi ymwybyddiaeth o fuddion cynnig gwasanaethau yn Gymraeg a rhoi cymorth a chyngor i fudiadau.

The value of volunteering in and for the Welsh language

About this event:

Volunteering is one of the many activities in which individuals can be encouraged and supported to use, practice, learn and champion the Welsh language. Thousands of volunteers are already using their Welsh in their volunteering interactions with others, whether as volunteer befrienders or first aiders, yet many others have Welsh language skills that they do not have the opportunity to use.

In this session, hosted by Owen Derbyshire (bio below), a panel of guests will be invited to explore the benefits of using the Welsh language (regardless of fluency) for volunteers, the organisations that individuals volunteer for and for the wider community. The panel will be sharing their personal experiences of their volunteering through or for the Welsh language, and top tips on how to encourage volunteers to use their Welsh skills.

The audience will be introduced to a range of resources that can help organisations to attract Welsh speakers or to tap into the skills that might already be there and there will be the opportunity to connect with organisations that can provide guidance on this topic.

The session is a partnership between WCVA and the Welsh Language Commissioner and will be bilingual.

Session type:

The session will be a panel event, with each speaker invited to talk about the topic and share their perspective. This will be followed by a question-and-answer session from the audience, and you are invited as part of this registration to submit questions.

Purpose for this event:

To enable volunteering organisations to understand the benefits and good practice to attract and welcome Welsh speakers to their organisations.

WCVA is the national membership body for voluntary organisations in Wales. We exist to enable voluntary organisations in Wales to make a bigger difference together and is a champion of good practice in volunteer management.

Owen Derbyshire is a business consultant from Cardiff. He is also a trustee for Shelter Cymru, a non-executive director of S4C, and a member of the Welsh Language Partnership Council (Welsh Government).

The Welsh Language Commissioner’s aim is to ensure that people in Wales can live their lives through the medium of Welsh should they wish to do so. Part of this work includes raising awareness of the benefits of offering services in Welsh and supporting and advising organisations.
