About this event

Science & Tech • High Tech

The Digital Tech Cluster is delivering a business support programme to help leaders of digital tech companies grow and succeed. As part of this, we are hosting a free online event created specifically for digital tech founders and leaders. Join us for this free, online workshop that will help you develop or reshape the value proposition of your digital tech business.

The interactive workshop will be led by business-growth expert Angela Smith, Project Manager Innovate UK Business Growth programme. Angela is leading a team of Innovation and Growth Specialists working with innovation-led SMEs to take their innovations to commercialisation through coaching and mentoring on a one to one level as well as through workshops. Focusing on digital tech businesses, she will guide participants through all the aspects of the Value Proposition Canvas.

What is a Value Proposition Canvas and what is it important for leaders of digital tech businesses?

The Value Proposition Canvas (VPC) is an extension of the Business Model Canvas (BMC) and offers a deeper insight into the customer's perspective, enabling businesses to understand the value of their products. It focuses on two main components: the Customer Segment and the Value Proposition, providing a detailed exploration of how a business’s offerings (products or services) align with customer needs, including their pains and gains.

What is the Innovate UK Business Growth Programme?

Innovate UK Business Growth Programme (formerly Innovate UK Edge) is the innovation support service funded by Innovate UK. This service is to help innovation-led SMEs to grow and scale through accessing funding and finance, exploiting their innovations and entering new markets.

The Digital Tech Cluster

Launched by the Science and Technology Facilities Council in Daresbury on November 2021, the Digital Tech Cluster supports innovative, fast-growing tech startups and scaleups through a targeted business support programme and a peer network. The Business Support Programme delivers around 15 workshops a year, supporting ver 300 leaders of digital tech businesses in 2024. The Peer Network is an exclusive community of tech leaders that benefit from more bespoke support in the form of facilitated CEO, CTO and Female Tech Leaders meetups, pitch practice sessions, mentoring and 1-1 support. 89 tech leaders have joined so far with the ambition to grow the network further in 2025.

Please sign up for tickets and make a note in your calendar. An invitation with joining instructions will be sent before the event.
