Event Details

The Vegetable Summit marks the beginning of a significant shift in the veg supply chain that will improve the nation's health, support British farmers and help reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Peas Please is an initiative led by The Food Foundation, WWF-UK, Nourish Scotland and Food Cardiff, that has brought together stakeholders from over 90 organisations across the food system, in a commitment to increase vegetable consumption in the UK. 

We are sorry there is a small charge for attending the event.  This is to contribute towards the cost of catering and AV on the day, without which we would not be able to run the summit.  If the price is a barrier to your attendance, please do contact us and we will arrange for a complimentary ticket.  Thank you!


At the Vegetable Summit, wholesalers, retailers, restauranteurs, caterers, government representatives and manufacturers will be making a pledge for more veg at this all day event.  We will be hearing about the challenges to veg consumption from each sector, we will hear from the trailblazers demonstrating great leadership in this area and we will see bold action as organisations make pledges to increase veg throughout the food system.

 13.30 – 14.00pm      Sir John Hegarty, Founder of Bartle Bogle Hegarty will be announcing the winner of our veg Ad competition

Chaired by Henry Dimbleby, British cookery writer & a co-founder of the Leon Restaurants
Fewer than one in five children eat enough veg.  How do we get them excited about veg from an early age?

Chaired by Iqbal Wahhab OBE, founder of Tandoori Magazine, & multi-award-winning restaurants The  Cinnamon lub & Roast 
We are eating out more than ever, so how can we use this opportunity to get more veg into our diets?

Chaired by Rosie Boycott, Chair of the London Food Board
How can local authorities contribute to an increase in veg consumption through planning and procurement?
