The Velvet Tones Big Band (Director: Danny Riley) is an Oxford-based Jazz Big Band playing in the Glenn Miller and Count Basie traditions.

The format of the band is the classic Basie line-up of five saxophones, four trombones, four trumpets, and a four-piece rhythm section of keyboards, guitar, bass, and drums.

The band combines a nuanced and deep understanding of swing and its history with new ideas and original songs, building upon an established catalogue of music that the band excels at performing and maintaining the great tradition of ‘big’ jazz bands.

Enjoy a swinging tribute to the age of the big bands and some Christmassy tunes!
