Jamie Morrison is a Swansea-based artist and musician that has been shooting photographs for over ten years. As bassist of restless punk band The Arteries, he's spent the last decade touring Europe and the USA and capturing the in-between moments of life on the road.
Inspired by the Fugazi song of the same name, The Waiting Room is an ongoing series of photographs that are printed using Xerox machines and then hand-painted with veils of coloured inks. ‘Photography is an expensive process, but money shouldn't be a limitation when wanting to create art,” says Jamie. “This process and exhibition is all about undercutting those limitations.
Jamie's work, which includes illustrations he makes for bands and events in the punk scene and beyond, has a DIY attitude that was born out of necessity. Growing up playing shows and being in constant need of poster and t-shirt designs, his ideas were put into action to save waiting for someone else to do the work.
