The next CIPD Knowledge into Practice (Scotland) Network seminar will focus on the ‘War for Talent’, will focus on talent management CIPD Scotland is delighted to accept the Military Secretary’s kind invitation to host the Seminarat Kentigern House - the Army Personnel Centre in Glasgow and giving us his unique insight into how the British Army manages its talent.
Please note you will be required to produce photographic identification to gain entry to the building. Please allow time for this on arrival.
The event will start with an academic overview of talent management delivered by Professor Dora Scholarios of the University of Strathclyde We will then hear how this is translated into practice from the practitioners: Major General Nick Ashmore CBE, Lesley Uren from PA Consulting and Ed Houghton from CIPD. General Nick will reveal how talent management in the British Army has evolved, while Lesley will look both globally and nationally and identify the latest trends from the civilian perspective. Finally, Ed will highlight the insights from CIPD’s ‘Valuing your Talent’ research and engagement programme. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and debate the implications of the points raised by the speakers in a Question & Answer Panel Session at the end of the seminar.
The event is targeted at practitioners, policy makers, students and academics interested in sharing views and perspectives. We thank PA Consulting for sponsoring a Curry supper after the seminar, which will give everyone the opportunity to network.
