The War of The Worlds by H.G. Wells

By Bolton Library and Museum Services

Overview

An abridged and performed reading by storyteller Gaz Cross in the presence of Luke Jerram's art installation 'Mars'

Story

H.G. Wells’ sci-fi classic takes on urgent new meaning in this gripping solo performance by Gav Cross. Delivered under the gaze of Luke Jerram's art installation 'Mars ', this 90-minute event plunges audiences into a world torn apart by a merciless Martian invasion.

With a haunting original soundtrack by Chris Bastock this powerful reimagining blends timeless storytelling with contemporary resonance, echoing themes of war, fear, and flight that remain deeply relevant today.

A gripping and surprising version of a classic we all think we know. Not the musical version and no Tom Cruise in sight. The War of the Worlds is a chilling performance for an unforgettable evening of grown-up storytelling.
