By West London College

Overview

Supported Internships are designed for individuals aged 16 - 25 with learning disabilities who hold an educational health care plan (EHCP).

The Annual West London Supported Internship Fair

The West London Supported Internship Fair is hosted by West London College and Co-ordinated by West London Alliance.

Supported Internships are designed for individuals aged 16 - 25 with learning disabilities who hold an educational health care plan (EHCP). These supported internships serve as a transitional step for young people with special educational needs (SEN) to move from education into employment.

Throughout the supported internship, interns will engage in a variety of work placements, allowing them to gain practical experience in different professional environments. In addition to the work experience component, interns will also dedicate time to educational learning, enhancing their skills and knowledge in relevant areas.

Attendees will have the valuable opportunity to hear from guest speakers, supporting staff members, and current and past interns. These individuals will share their experiences, insights, and successes related to supported internships. Their stories and perspectives will provide attendees with valuable information and inspiration, helping them to understand the benefits and possibilities that supported internships can offer.

There will be a good number of supported internship providers in attendance and they would be delighted to meet with attendees, give an overview of their programs, answer any queries they may have, and encourage them to apply for a supported internship. Successful applicants will be invited to interviews, and upon successful completion, they will begin their placements in September.

Please ensure that a ticket is booked for each person attending the event, including support staff, as entry can not be granted to individuals without a valid ticket.
