Description

Curiosity Connections Primary Science Knowledge Boosters

In this new talk series, inspirational speakers will connect the big ideas of science with our region’s local history and culture. It’s an opportunity for primary school teachers to get a lively insight into the what, why and how of those tricky curriculum topics. With culturally relevant links to the city and a teacher's top tips for the classroom, these talks are designed to help deliver the broad and balanced curriculum required by Ofsted.

The what, why & how of... Human Impact on the Environment

In the next event in our series, Enda Hayes, Director of the Air Quality Management Resource Centre at UWE Bristol, will explain how local projects are responding to the climate emergency by looking at improving air quality in the city and managing carbon emissions.

Then Liz Southwell, local Y3 teacher and science lead, will highlight Kid's Against Plastic, plastic and climate change resources, showing how they can be used as the focus and inspiration for science inquiry and investigation.

Read more about this CPD event on the Curiosity Connections blog.

These events are designed for teachers, but that doesn't mean you have to be a teacher to come along – these engaging talks are for all of the curious minds in our creative and ingenious city.

The event is kindly hosted by Arnolfini and supported by STEM Learning.
