About this event

We collaborate across various institutions to organise meetings and gatherings where we collectively create music, primarily using the sound of whistling, which will be compiled into a music album.

These sessions feature invited artists and musicians who contribute to the collaborative experience. We will announce each guest prior to the event. The events are open to all, free of charge, and no musical skills are necessary. Come and join us!

In each session, a guest artist is invited to co-deliver the event.

Our first guest for the 5th of February was James Christopher Oldham from Waste Paper Opera.

The second guest for the 4th of February will be Shenece Oretha. Her practice is invested in the mobilising potential of sound enacted through her sound sculptures, multi-channel installations, poetry, workshops and print.

The third guest for the 1st of April will be Eve Atkinson. She is an award-winning southeast London based spoken word artist and creative community facilitator. She was a 2022 BBC Words First Poet and her work has been featured on BBC 4, Radio 1Xtra, shown as part of BFI Flare Festival amongst others.

The fourth guest for the 6th of May will be Hyelim Kim. She is a composer and solo performer of the Korean daegeum flute, holding a PhD in ethnomusicology from SOAS University of London. Her work explores dynamics within binary dichotomies: traditional/contemporary, performer/composer, improvisation/composition, and Western/non-Western. Hyelim is also the recipient of the 2023 Paul Hamlyn Composer Award.
