About this event

The Scottish Federation of Housing Associations and The Wise Group invite you to an information session on Fair Start Scotland, the Scottish Government’s flagship employability service.

Fair Start offers up to 12 months of one to one support to anyone not currently working or in education, with a goal of securing a minimum of 16 hours work per week. Once in work, Fair Start will continue to support for an additional 12 months, ensuring long term, sustainable employment for participants.

The support offered through Fair Start makes a significant contribution to ensuring tenancy sustainment, helping housing associations to maximise income as well as offering additional support to tenants in the form of money management and wellbeing.

We will also welcome Eddie Cusick, Community Engager from Linstone Housing Association, to share their experience of working with the Wise Group and Fair Start, and how this has benefited tenants. Speaking ahead of the event, Eddie said:

"By forming a multi-agency approach there has been strong networking processes, which in turn has enhanced the confidence and motivation of the tenants, and supported them into sustainable employment opportunities, which in turn has given them a more secured tenancy as their issues such as rent arrears, evictions, anti-social behaviour have been or are being addressed".

Join us on Monday 23 September to meet the Wise Group Fair Start team and find out how you can start referring tenants to the service to begin receiving support.
