Event description

Description

Join Jelly Artists to create pieces for our special collaborative ‘wish arch’. The arch is part of a project, telling our stories and dreams for Reading.

- - - - - - - - - -

Visitors will be invited to tie a written wish or a story.

Throughout history many cultures have written down wishes or tied pieces of cloth to trees to represent a wish.

Make a wish/ tell a story.
Write it down on a piece of paper.
Fold it and tie it to the arch.
Ask your friends to do the same.
Keep wishing and telling stories.

The Wishing Arch is part of a bigger storytelling project that is happening Autumn 2019.

Malmaison Reading is the Worlds reputedly oldest surviving railway hotel. Completed in 1844, and likely to have been designed by Isambard Kingdon Brunel the hotel still celebrates it’s railway heritage through it’s room names to styling.

The event is free, all ages welcome and all children must be accompanied by an adult. The activity is drop-in.

To make your day even more special, why don’t you book a delicious Heritage afternoon tea buffet. Must be pre-booked directly at Malmaison, quoting this workshop and full payment taken at time of booking.

For detais of booking the afternoon tea, please contact: Imogen Parker
