WORD FACTORY PRESENTS:
Sublime Women, a celebration of classic and contemporary short story writers.
Join us In our final salon of the Sublime Women season for mythical readings and inspired conversation with Marina Warner, Joanna Walsh and Dubravka Ugresic. A unique chance to hear Marina Warner discussing the place and power of story, myth and fable with one of former Yugoslavia's leading writers and one of the UK's most powerful new voices in short fiction.
Joanna Walsh is a writer and illustrator whose work has already captured the attention of the Paris Review. Dubravka Ugresic left Croatia in 1993 because she "could not adapt to the permanent terror of lies in public, political, cultural and everyday life." Her work has been highly acclaimed and in 2009, she was nominated for The Man Booker International Prize.
Dame Marina Warner is an acclaimed novelist, short story writer, historian and mythographer. Her latest collection of short stories, Fly Away Home, is published by Salt.
Please note Marina will be giving a masterclass on myth, magic and Angela Carter earlier in the day - a rescheduling of the class advertised earlier this year.
Salon limited to 80 places.
