Come and spend an afternoon indulging in books and literature with book-signings, talks and Q & A sessions.
Join us in the marquee on the Castle lawn to meet with a wide variety of local and general authors, many with recently published books available to purchase on the day.
Share with B. R. Collins, ‘The Broken Road’ and ‘Tyme‘s End’, a writer of young adult fantasy novels, her love of all things fiction. Listen to Jessica Thompson, ‘This is a Love Story’, and Eleanor Prescott, ‘Alice Brown’s Lessons in the Curious Art of Dating’, as they explain how to write and publish romance novels.
If you like crime fiction, meet Nick Triplow, ‘Franks Wild Years’, and his fellow authors from Kent-based Caffeine Nights.
For those of you with a more serious nature listen to writer Peter Hendrix as he tells you about his life as a homeless man in Kent in ‘Forty Years War’.
Come and see Tonbridge-based, Times political sketch writer and author Ann Treneman who will discuss her latest work ‘Dave and Nick: The Year of the Honeymoon’.
Also on the lawn listen and enjoy tall tales from local storyteller, musician and author Rob Parkinson who will be sharing his latest work ‘My Dad’s not a dog and other extraordinary family fantasies’.
The event will feature several extra ‘tents’ advertising local writers’ groups such as Tonbridge Writers’ Group and U3A.
There will be music from local musicians and a performance from the Applause Rural Touring Company. Refreshments will be available to be purchased during the afternoon.
Music provided by:
Maya Kaye: “Pianist and singer, playing my own songs as well as many covers from all kinds of genres which influenced me, including artists such as: Tori Amos, Regina Spektor, Metallica, Incubus, The Shins……and countless others.”
Out of the Loop: a jazz quintet led by Asha Parkinson, who stunned the judges of Tonbridge has Talent in 2011 with her precocious improvising abilities on alto sax, and also features rising stars from the National Youth Jazz Orchestra. They’re young, highly talented and they bring a fresh creative take on everything from jazz funk to pop tunes to classic standards and blues.
