About this event

If you have ever wondered how the British criminal justice system works, come along to this talk by local barrister, Kevin McNerney. Using three cases he will explain the evolution of the jury trial and its latest controversial use in the trial of Lucy Letby.

The cases will be used to show key features of the jury trial and how the criminal process operates on behalf of the public and whether it is ‘the envy of the world’ or something more imperfect.

The Cases:

  1. Charles I
  2. Lucy Letby
  3. The Birmingham 6. Alleged IRA bombers

This talk is a free event. There will be time for questions at the end. Tea, coffee and hot chocolate also available for £1.50
