The World according to Physics with Jim Al-Khalili - launch event
Shining a light on the most profound insights revealed by modern physics, Jim Al-Khalili invites us all to understand what this crucially important science tells us about the universe and the nature of reality itself.
In this talk, Jim's will introduce the fundamental concepts of space, time, energy, and matter, and then describes the three pillars of modern physics—quantum theory, relativity, and thermodynamics—showing how all three must come together if we are ever to have a full understanding of reality.
Able to make even the most enigmatic scientific ideas accessible, you will be captivated by this talk as you listen to Jim explain why physics matters to everyone and calls one and all to share in the profound adventure of seeking truth in the world around us.
As the launch event for Jim's latest book The World According to Physics , his talk will be followed by a Q+A session hosted by New Scientist and a book signing.
Copies of Jim's book The World According to Physics can be purchased with your ticket for collection at the event. Copies will also be available for purchase at the event.

The event will be held at Conway Hall, 25 Red Lion Square, Holborn, London WC1R 4RL
Doors will open at 6.30pm with talks commencing at 7.00 pm. The event will finish at 9.00pm.
Eventbrite will email you your ticket(s) immediately after purchase. Please remember to bring your ticket with you as you'll need it to gain entry. We can scan tickets from a print out, or off the screen of a phone / tablet / smartwatch.
