Welcome to The Writer's Bootcamp with WriteClub 🎉🖊️

Join us in the WriteClub Zoom room from Mon 8th September 2025 at 19:30 [BST] and get ready to set your words free!

This 6-week bootcamp for writers is designed to inspire and motivate you to unleash your creativity and help you get to your notebook. It's ideal if you:

🖊️ Want to establish a regular writing habit

🖊️ Know that you're more likely to write when you've set time aside

🖊️ Value being in company with other writers

🖊️ Love a prompt to get you started

🖊️ Have a work in progress and just need the focus to get on with it!

Throughout the Bootcamp, you'll have the opportunity to respond to original writing prompts, connect with a supportive community of fellow writers and receive 1-1 feedback from an experienced professional mentor. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned writer, this bootcamp is suitable for all skill levels. As well as weekly prompts to inspire your writing, you'll have access to four hosted sprints each week and a Monday night check-in where you can chat about your work in progress.

Each writing sprint is led by one of our friendly WriteClub hosts who will welcome you to the Zoom Room and encourage you to set your goals. You're welcome to join any of the 60 minute sessions run on Mondays and Wednesday 7:30-8:30pm plus Fridays and Sundays 10-11am. Sign up once and attend as many or as few as you like.

Each week you'll receive a creative prompt via email to inspire new stories, poems, essays or whatever other wordy magic you want to whizz up. Alternatively, use the writing sprints to focus on your novel manuscript, your memoir, your collection of poems - or to journal in the company of other writers.

And if you'd like extra support with your writing project, add on 60 minutes of 1-1 mentoring with experienced coach, writer and WriteClub founder, Alison Powell.

We look forward to writing with you!

FAQ

Is it an actual club? Like, do I get a badge? Not really. Though there is a community of WriteClubbers who regularly come to workshops both online and in real life. WriteClub offers workshops to help you get words down on the page, to help you deal with procrastination and to get feedback on your work.

What if I haven't written anything before? Well, that's probably not true - we've all written stuff at some point. Basically we're here to create a space for you to get words out. It doesn't matter where you are with your writing. Perhaps you're half way through a second novel. Perhaps you haven't written more than a shopping list in years. Wherever you're at, we'll have a session to suit you.

I really want to work one-to-one rather than in a group. Can I do that? Sure. Pop us an email at hellowriteclub@gmail.com and we'll arrange a time to chat about our mentoring packages.

Who leads the sessions? Workshops are mostly led by WriteClubber-in-chief, Alison Powell. She's been running writing workshops forever (seriously, she even used to get her primary school friends writing stories...) and established WriteClub in 2016. She supports new and established writers and runs regular workshops on all aspects of the writing craft. She is an award winning writer, published in various anthologies and magazines and holds an MA in Creative Writing from Bath Spa.

She has years of experience as a secondary English & Drama teacher and is also a fully fledged INLPTA certified Master Practitioner of NLP and coaching. She is an active member of NAWE and a channel partner with Paper Nations.

She believes that everyone has the right to express themselves in writing and runs all her sessions with a positive approach and a genuine passion for helping people set their words free. Her love of poetry and story, along with her enthusiasm for helping people find the best in themselves are reflected in her lively, welcoming and open presentation style. She promises to do her very best to ensure you find the support you need to make your writing feel wonderful.
