The Writing Framework 2025: The Importance of Reception
Overview
Following the release of The Writing Framework 2025, English Hubs will be hosting a series of webinars designed specifically for school leaders and teachers. These sessions aim to deepen understanding of the new framework, highlight its key messages, and clarify expectations for writing in the coming academic year—helping schools plan their next steps with confidence.
About This Session
The third webinar in the series, “Writing Framework: The Importance of Reception,” will focus on how the writing framework supports Early Years practice. Aimed at English leads and Early Years teachers, this session will explore how Reception plays a vital role in establishing a strong, inclusive whole-school writing culture. We’ll discuss how to help children see themselves as writers from the very beginning—fostering joy in writing, encouraging self-expression, and strengthening the connections between reading, thinking, and writing. This is a crucial stage for nurturing confidence, creativity, and a lifelong love of literacy.
