Event description

Description

The Xmas Files with The Philosophy Foundation.

Come and explore some philosophical thoughts around the festive season. Didn’t like the silly socks you got from Great Auntie Mable? You’ve always been told to tell the truth, what do you do now, upset Mable or lie? In a time of giving is it wrong to want to receive a gift? With climate change issues all around us, are Christmas cards a good idea?

Session One: 11.30am - 12.30pm

For young philosophers aged 6-9 years we’ll be taking a gentle think around Xmas thoughts with baubles and bells.

Session Two: 1pm - 2pm

For older philosophers aged 10-14 we’ll get stuck right into the turkey!

These events are free to attend, but registeration is essential.

We would like to thank Stephen Law for allowing us to use the title of his book The Xmas Files: The Philosophy of Christmas, a book we highly recommend as Christmas presents for young philosophers and which we will be using for inspiration for these sessions.
