Monkeys: An Amazing Animal Family
In this stunning natural history series biologist Patrick Aryee takes us on a journey through time, to retrace the primate family’s astonishing rise to power through the twists and turns of its family tree. Through intimate monkey encounters, sumptuous wildlife photography, field demos and a CGI family tree - he shows how different key members of this family evolved bizarre bodies, intelligent behaviours and tight-knit social groups to thrive in some of the planet’s wildest landscapes. The Primate family is OUR animal family. The story of how we came to be – told through our many cousins and distant relatives. Squabbling siblings, devious con artists, cruel despots and doting parents – in each of our primate characters we see a little piece of ourselves. Relevant – entertaining – heart-warming - this is a reflection of our human condition.
Panda Award nomination: UWE Popular Broadcast Award
The Zoo - Poo Dunnit? Is the Zoo getting rich from selling the animals poo!? After overhearing that zoo poo is valuable, self-obsessed gorilla Jürgen is convinced the zoo’s poo is being sold behind his back. To stop anyone cashing in, he calls a poo strike - no one is allowed to poo in the zoo. But as time passes it becomes more and more difficult for the animals to not give into the urge, and when a mystery poo is discovered the No Poo Zoo is gripped by a puzzling case of Poodunnit.
Panda Award nomination: Children’s Award
The screening will be followed by a Q&A with Voice Artist and Editor Stuart Garlick and executive producer Jonny Keeling, hosted by Colin Stafford Johnson.
