Event description

Description

How do we combine activism and the arts? Can theatre create political and social change? How do we explore environmental issues in theatre?

We are offering an exciting new multidisciplinary workshop series, combining theatre-making, activism, and environmentalism.

The workshop series will explore the techniques of Augusto Boal and his Theatre of the Oppressed, as a means of exploring issues of climate justice. It is led by very experienced Theatre of the Oppressed practitioners, some of whom actually trained with Boal himself.

This is a perfect workshop series for both theatre-makers and non-theatre makers, environmental activists, or anyone who wants to voice their own fears and anxieties about climate change. It is a playful, creative space to explore some of the biggest questions we face as a society.

The first session will be a taster session, but after that we do ask that you commit to the series, as we are hoping to develop some kind of collaborative piece by the end.

The workshops are on a pay what you can basis, and the first session is a taster session. THE TICKETS BELOW ARE SIMPLY A DEPOSIT.
