2pm - 4pm

English I 120mins I women only (18+)

This workshop is for women who want to see more relatable stories told that are relevant to the South Asian and Bangladeshi experience. All are welcome including those who’ve never had the opportunity or confidence to delve into theatre.

The writer of Still Life (with Mangos), an award-winning British-Bangladeshi play, will lead the workshop, which will include an informal discussion around the portrayal of women on stage, screen and page. She will then share the inspiration behind her play's characters. Participants can take part in a short script read with Bangla and non-Bangla speaking roles.

About the artist: Ruby Kitching is a British Bangladeshi playwright, engineering writer and mum. Her first play, Still Life (with Mangos) was a winner in the RSC’s 37 Plays competition. Other plays include I never got your recipe, (Tamasha Theatre) and Baki (Tara Theatre, Britto Arts, British Council and Polka Theatre).
