Following sell-out shows on their reunion tour in 2012, rockersThen Jerico announce their Reprise Tour with all original bandmembers for May 2013.
Lead vocalist Mark Shaw, drummerSteve Wren, guitarist Rob Downes, bassist Jasper Stainthorpe, guitaristScott Taylor are taking to the road again for 13 dates around the UK.
The band can’t wait to get back out on another tour after reforming this year. AsMark says: "All of us in the band are really excited to be hitting the road again for our first full UK reunion tour in May 2013. The musical chemistry between us is stronger thanever and our 23 years apart has made us all better musicians and better friends, so it's going to be great to play together again and blast out ourbiggest and best songs, hits and album favourites, to our loyal army of fans..."
Then Jerico first found fame in 1986 with the release of their debut album ‘First (The Sound Of Music)’. The record featured hit singles‘Muscle Deep’ and ‘The Motive’ which remained in the UK Top 40 chart forthree months, becoming the most-played record on BBC Radio 1 in 1987. The track broughtThen Jerico worldwide recognition and saw them selling-outheadline shows along with support tours withIggy Pop and Propaganda, amongst others.
Their follow-up album,‘The Big Area’, cemented their status as one of the greatest bands of the 1980s. Selling over 100,000 copies within the first 40 minutes of its release,‘The Big Area’ immediately attaining Gold status and consequently reachedPlatinum sales.
In recent years,Mark Shaw has enjoyed a successful solo career, releasing several solo and live albums, and has branched into film and stage acting. As a member of the all-starSAS Band, Mark has performed all over the world with rock legends includingRoger Taylor and Brian May of Queen. Mark and the band are currently in the studio writing new material, whilst Rhino/Warners have digitally re-released the first twoThen Jerico albums. They will also be releasing a ‘best of’ compilation entitled ‘Reprise’ in Spring 2013.
