Theory of Change (ToC) is an approach to better understand how, why and to what extent change happens as a result of the implementation of complex interventions. It provides a rich process and impact framework to guide implementation and evaluation.
This one day workshop is designed for researchers and practitioners involved in the design and evaluation of complex interventions. The workshop will teach the practical skills needed to use ToCto design and evaluate complex interventions.
The course will be an interactive mix of short lectures and group discussion, with significant practical time to practice the skills learnt. It will cover what ToCis and how to construct one in a stakeholder workshop, and how ToCcan be used throughout the project in conjunction with the MRC framework for complex interventions to design, refine and pilot, and evaluate both the process of implementation and effectiveness of a complex intervention.
The workshop is facilitated by members of the Mental Health Innovation Network (MHIN) at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine; Mary De Silva, Lucy Lee, Grace Ryan and Shamalia Usmani.
