Event description

Description

This highly practical day is aimed at all hard working and dedicated staff working in a pastoral capacity in any young person-centred setting. Hosted by Mengage, an organisation well regarded for their work in male specific training, this day teaches therapeutic approaches for both genders and will equip delegates with a range of new strategies to add to their ‘pastoral toolbox’.

The two trainers (Leann & Liam) are both qualified therapists with many years of experience. Leann is a registered nurse and brings years of working in medical settings to her therapeutic approach. Liam is a teacher, by training, and has been delivering training in this type of format for nearly 20 years. Between them they are passionate about young people and getting them the help they need. Mengage see this as the first step on that path, by training the practitioners who deal with these young people, day in, day out.

They are joined by a former secondary Headteacher, Kerry, who is also passionate about pastoral support for young people and endeavoured throughout her 20-year career to make school a more accommodating place for all students.

The training is based at Black Finch New Road, which is the home of Worcestershire County Cricket Club in the centre of picturesque Worcester. All refreshments and lunch are provided. A calm and peaceful approach to what will be quite an intense look at ourselves, our approach to young people and at least four therapeutic techniques for you to take away.

Starting at 9 for registration, this course lasts until 4pm; breaks and lunch will be taken as apposite. All food, drink and stationery is provided. Just bring yourself, perhaps one technique that you use and prepare for an immersive day, that will be rewarding and focused.

It costs £230 + booking fee early bird, until 15th September 2019.

It is then full price at £270 + booking fee.

There is an option to invoice.
