Overview

A professional development day to explore the creation of a behaviour curriculum aligning with the principles of Therapeutic Thinking.

Therapeutic Thinking Principles of a Behaviour Curriculum

This course will consider a behaviour curriculum, which reflects the ambition within the latest DfE Behaviour guidance (February 2024) and look at how investment in a curriculum can formalise teaching and learning of behaviour.

The Principles of a Behaviour Curriculum professional development day will explore options for formalising a curriculum that will teach and provide an assessment framework for ensuring children and young people develop valued behaviour skills. It will help us to recognise when we need to use the curriculum to ‘close the gap’ for an individual who is not developing valued behaviour skills in line with their peers. The course will explore the concept of thresholds and pathways that helps us formalise individual planning for children who require additional support.
