Event description

Description

I recently lost a friend to cancer, and am organising an evening of music and comedy to raise funds for the hospice who looked after him during his final months, and as a way of remembering him.

Featuring music by:

Tom Craven

A stalwart acoustic artist on the Watford music scene, having toured California amongst gigs throughout the UK and Europe from the age of 21, Tom (Now 31) continues to steadily make his mark with his "ability to blend acoustics and rock in a unique way; creating a perfect blend of music for all ages".

From sing-alongs to heartfelt ballads, Tom has an intense emotion to his vocals & his music has subtle elements towards indie & folk, but his real strength lies in his storytelling and confidence/presence onstage. An honest & bold acoustic troubadour!

Sarah Blair (The Fruitful Earth)

The Fruitful Earth is the project of singer-songwriter Sarah Blair. Currently playing her riff-based piano songs solo. The third album was recorded with renowned Producer Shuta Shinoda (Ghost Poet, Hot Chip, Vampire Weekend) & plans are being hatched for it's release. Described in Gigwise Magazine in September as one of the top 7 keyboard players to watch right now.

Rangoon

Rangoon's Thumping rhythms underlie blues based original material with country overtones and gritty street cred. Melodrama, passion and humour abound in stories of love and loss where fantasy and reality clash, and nothing is resolved.

Rangoon is Will Hudson, guitar and lead vocals, Michele Haniotis , drums and vocals, Andrew Brigmont, violin, David Macdonald, Bass guitar and vocals, Anthony Eden, banjo.

Comedy provided by

Will Preston - Semi-Finalist - South Coast Comedian of the Year 2017

Will Preston has been performing in London for over a year (despite no one actually asking him to) with over 150 gigs under his belt (He sometimes wears a belt). Originally hailing from Portsmouth, Will provides high-energy observational comedy on his hometown, geek culture, and the fact that he looks a bit like a criminal. Off stage, he co-hosts the comedy podcast "Take On Meme"....

All proceeds from the ticket sales will be donated to St John’s Hospice, an independent charity located within the Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth in St John’s Wood, providing specialised palliative care to more than 3,000 terminally-ill patients and their families every year.
