You are cordially invited to a Labour in the City panel discussion on rethinking, rebuilding, and reforming Britain’s economy in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
How can we put the nation’s finances on a stable footing without reverting to austerity? How have boardroom attitudes been changed and shaped by the health crisis? What lessons can we draw from the last 12 months on how to build a more socially just Britain?
The event will be held on Wednesday, 31st March, at 5pm via Zoom and speakers will include:
• The Right Honourable Pat McFadden MP, Shadow City Minister
• John Fallon, Chair, WarChild UK and former Chief Executive of Pearson PLC
• Frances Coppola, financial economist, writer and blogger
The discussion will be informed by an anthology of writing to be published by Labour in the City later this week in which leading figures drawn from business, finance and academia put forward ideas on how a left-of-centre Government could tackle the challenges we are facing.
Topics will focus on balancing twin concerns of economic growth and social justice as Britain seeks to reinvigorate and rebuild its economy in the aftermath of COVID-19.
