There is Another Way - film presentation and panel discussion
Overview
SPARK Social Justice are proud to be sponsors of There is Another Way as part of this year’s Leeds Palestinian Film Festival. It is being organised with the help and support of the Leeds Diocese Pax Christi group.
The film is a little over an our long and after the film there will be a panel discussion.
There is Another Way is a follow up to the award-winning documentary Disturbing the Peace (2016)and tells the story of a group of visionaries who refuse to surrender to violence and injustice, and in doing so show that another path is possible.
Combatants for Peace, nominated for two Nobel Peace Prizes, is an extraordinary bi-national group of former enemy combatants - Israelis and Palestinians - working together during an ongoing armed conflict. Confronted with the devastation and escalating violence of October 7th and the war in Gaza, the very core of the movement faces great challenges in showing that there is another way. The first question they must move past relates to their own beliefs...is this possible?
Doors open at 6:30 pm. There will be stalls selling Palestinian goods - so a good opportunity to browse before the start of the film at 7pm.
The panel discussion will finish by 9pm at the latest.
