THESE 4 WALLS | a live contemporary dance performance by Daisy Farris Dance Collective | part of Gravesham Fringe Festival 2022
About this event
THESE 4 WALLS
As part of this year's Gravesham Fringe Festival, enjoy a live contemporary dance performance by Daisy Farris Dance Collective in the St Andrew's Arts Centre, formerly a mission church, located on the Gravesend riverfront.
These 4 Walls is a dance performance which takes place in a house shaped scaffolding frame and captures the challenges that took place behind closed doors in lockdown. The scaffolding set is animated by the dancers who move in and around it as their personal lockdown stories unravel in the space. Within the frame hangs a pair of curtains, created by visual artist Nicola Flower. The curtains are embellished with embroidered speech bubbles, sewn by creatives from Gravesend as part of the research and development of the work.
These 4 Walls is a moving snapshot of a moment in history we all shared. The performance takes the audience on an emotive journey, through the highs and lows of lockdown, in which the viewer can reflect on their own experience.
