"They said she couldn't so she did"

About this Event

Whilst women make up 50.2% of practicing certificate holders, they are not making it to the top in same numbers as men. Of the 30,000 partners in private practice only 28% of partners are women.

Just a few of the challenge’s women face are – the long hours culture, and poor work life balance, lack of flexible working, unconscious bias, workplace harassment, gender wage-gap but the list continues.

The solution to overcoming the obstacles women face is not to change the women to fit the system, but to reconsider and adapt the processes to help level the playing field between men and women and support women in their changing lives situations so they can continue to thrive in the profession throughout. Let our speakers inspire you to embrace your legal career with a new perspective of what is possible.

This particular event will discuss the following topics:

Menopause. There is a good reason why menopause in the workplace should be included in the Diversity & Inclusion agenda as such support will not only equip organisations to help their employees but will also boost diversity at senior level.

Personal Branding. Whether you know it or not, you have a personal brand. Cultivating a personal brand has become more important than ever and is also good for business.

Confidence. Have confidence in yourself, the work you do and the decisions you make.

Our speakers:

Moderator of this wonderful event will be be our Hannah Beko - lawyer, life/ performance coach and corporate trainer.

Alongside running her legal business, Hannah supports lawyers and other professionals through workshops and trainings designed to improve stress levels, happiness, success and that important sense of balance. She is the author of the upcoming book “The Authentic Lawyer, How to Create More Success in Your Practice and More Balance in Your Life.

Julie Dennis – The Menopause Coach

Julie Dennis, Menopause at Work Trainer, will be discussing why we need to talk about menopause at work. She will reveal the key challenges women face in the workplace, share strategies for managing symptoms like hot flushes, brain fog, anxiety and poor sleep and showcase what best practice looks like in organisations across the UK.

Julie partners with organisations to introduce menopause as an inclusive topic, educate managers and improve the experience of women working through menopause.

Prior to entering the health and wellness field Julie was employed in a variety of corporate roles spanning executive search, management consultancy and the mining industry.

The powerful combination of her personal experience of menopause and business background means she is ideally placed to understand both the needs of mid-life female employees and the demands of the business.
