Theydon Bois - Forest & Deer Sanctuary Walk
Event Information
Description
For Residents' of Theydon Bois, their Family & Friends.
Annual Deer Santuary Walk lead by Robert Levene, Committee Member, Theydon Bois & District Rural Preservation Society.
Unlike previous years, we will start from the Village Hall and walk up into Epping Forest for a one hour walk planning to arrive at The Deer Santuary Gates, where Forest Keeper Michael Collins will meet us, to give us access and describe the History & Management of the Santuary by The City of London.
We are expecting a Forest Wide Deer Management Plan to be published by this time and Robert Levene will summarise this. (He is also a member of The Epping Forest Consultative Committee on the Forests Management)
Because of massive oversubscription last time, we have introducted this FREE booking service - Maximum 40 people (last time 243 people turned up).
NO DOGS allowed.
Note you must a capable of walking though the forest for an hour including on unmade paths/rough ground, which could be slippery/muddy depending on the weather - walking shoes/boots/wellington boots are essential.
Children, are very welcome, provided they stay with their adult and will be happy to listen to the talks.
