If you’re interested raising the profile of science in your school and engaging more parents in their children’s education, then Think Physics is offering free training to teachers to allow them to deliver Science for Families in their schools.
Over five weeks, Science for Families brings together simple experiments and demonstrations of scientific phenomena from across the primary National Curriculum in an accessible and family friendly way. Through the experiments families are encouraged to explore science together and turn ‘I don’t know’ into ‘Let’s find out’. The course aims to spark scientific conversations amongst families, increasing the confidence of both parents and children when thinking, talking and doing science at home.
We’re immensely proud of the thinking behind Science for Families, the detail of the ideas, and the response we’ve seen from participants.
The training session for facilitators provides complete notes and supporting materials, guiding you through delivering the course yourself, in your school.
You can find out a little more about the course from our page about the background to Science for Families.
