Event description

Description

A free research-informed professional development event for youth workers, managers and all with an interest in these issues.

8th July 2019, 11am-4pm

King’s College London, 5 mins from Waterloo Station.

Tania de St Croix and Louise Doherty will share some of our thoughts and emerging findings from the first year of our three year research project ‘Rethinking Impact, Evaluation and Accountability in Youth Work’. Farzana Khan (Voices That Shake) will introduce and facilitate a workshop on equity, equality and power in relation to youth impact, evaluation and accountability. Other contributors will include Bernard Davies (In Defence of Youth Work) and Sydney Church (Centre for Youth Impact). There will be plenty of time for in-depth discussion on these themes and the full programme will be confirmed soon.

Practicalities: The event is free to attend and includes vegan/vegetarian refreshments and lunch. It takes place in King’s College London’s Waterloo Bridge Wing, which is 5 minutes walk from Waterloo Station and well served by buses and tubes. To ensure equal access we can offer limited travel bursaries; get in touch if this would enable you to take part.

Access: Lift and accessible toilets available. Please let us know if you have additional access needs/questions.

With special thanks to: Our research participants; our Advisory Group; and to everyone who has contributed to this event. Our research is funded by ESRC, ref. ES/101800X/1. The event and bursaries are funded by King’s College London’s School of Education, Communication and Society.
