Event description
Enabling Wessex to be Frailty Fit

About this Event

As we head into the World Health Organization's Decade of Healthy Ageing (2020-2030), and the frailty aspects of the Long-Term Plan (2019) begin to be realised, the focus of frailty and ageing well has never been greater and we will all be challenged to think differently.

The conference will bring national and local leaders, together with innovators, showcasing how they are thinking differently to transform services and health and social care provision.

Matthew Winn (NHS England Improvement Director of Community Health and Senior Responsible Officer for the implementation of the Ageing Well programme in the NHS Long Term Plan) will be the keynote speaker at the conference.

Audience:

Wessex colleagues passionate about thinking differently in work streams promoting ageing well and services for those living with frailty:

  • Healthcare Professionals
  • Social Services Leads
  • Commissioners
  • Third sector organisations including Voluntary Sector and Charitable Organisations
  • Social Entrepreneurs
  • Care Home Managers

What will I get from attending the conference?

  • Challenging yourself in how you could work in new ways and use innovation to transform how we support people to age well.
  • Network across all sectors and across the Wessex geography with others enthusiastic to transform ageing well and frailty services.
  • Interact in workshops and debates, ask questions of expert panels and hear about what’s happening locally and nationally.
  • Learn about different projects and services showcased through poster displays.
