Thinking Translation - how to approach the translation task

Where: The Red Lion, Pall Mall, 23 Crown Passage, St. James's, London SW1Y 6PP

When: Tuesday, 24 April 2018 - 6.30 for 7pm

Stella Cragie and Ann Pattison will be talking about their new book, Thinking English Translation. Whilst written for post-graduate students, this talk will also be of interest to established translators, working both into and from English, and looking for tips and hints as to how they can improve the quality of their work, how to deal with tricky translation issues and how to speed up the translation task.

Stella Cragie is a MITI and former Principal Lecturer in Translation at the University of Westminster; she now works as a freelance translator.

Ann Pattison is a former Senior Lecturer in Translation at the University of Westminster and now works as a freelance translator, editor and writer.


Cost: LRG members - free; non-LRG and students £5

Transport: St James Park, Piccadilly Circus or Green Park underground stations, buses to Piccadilly and Haymarket
