Event description
SOUTH ASIA: EXCLUSION, DIALOGUE, EXCHANGE Interdisciplinary Postgrad Conference, May 2019

About this Event

This year’s event follows highly successful events at the University of Leeds and University of Sheffield, White Rose Consortium partner universities. The inaugural conference, Futures Past: South Asia Now and Then, took the form of a one-day workshop held at the University of Leeds on 22 May 2017. The second event, South Asian Studies: Voices Through History took the form of an interdisciplinary two-day conference hosting papers on a range of topics. Both were funded by the White Rose College of Arts and Humanities. We seek to bring together researchers – PhD and early career – from across the South Asia White Rose Research Network and beyond to stimulate exciting new discussions.

This year it is York’s turn! York is a thriving hub for South Asianists, hosting interdisciplinary seminars, conferences, reading groups, research strands and more through bodies such as the York Asia Research Network.

South Asia: Exclusion, Dialogue, Exchange will take place in the Berrick Saul building at the University of York, Harewood Way, Heslington, York, YO10 5DD, on 23 May 2019. Check back soon for final details of room bookings for the keynote and panel presentations.
