Event description
Collaborative and innovative procurement must be central to London’s recovery - how can we increase engagement with startups?

About this event

Startup and SME engagement in public sector procurement has always been an important topic in local government. The benefits? Increased innovation, improved social and economic equity and increased engagement with citizens, and more equitable spend of public funds, to name a few.

Yet, all too often, smaller businesses find the process of finding and applying to public contracts, to be a challenging process - let alone winning these.

In the midst of a pandemic and economic downturn, greater partnerships between smaller business and city authorities could help boost the capital's resilience and recovery process, with greater dialogue between citizens solving urban challenges and more investment in smaller organisations.

Entering a new era for CityTech in London, Nitrous and the Greater London Authority invites you to a presentation and panel revealing Thirty3 - a new collaborative procurement platform that brings together London's public sector opportunities and SMEs. In partnership with LOTI and alongside industry supporters such as Proactis and Jaggaer, we will discuss why SME and government partnerships are essential to London's resilience and what needs to happen next.

Panel and speakers:

Introduction & platform demo:

  • George Johnston, CEO & Founder of Nitrous

  • Chair: Laura Citron, CEO at London & Partners
  • Theo Blackwell, Chief Digital Officer at the Greater London Authority
  • Rikesh Shah, Head of Commercial Innovation at Transport for London
  • Debbie Mackenzie, General Manager at Proactis
