DIRECTIONS TO THE CREATIVE INNOVATION ZONE/ MEDIA FACTORY

The Creative Innovative Zone is located on Kirkham Street in the heart of the University campus in Preston, just a few minutes walk from Preston City Centre, Railway Station and Ring Road.

Although the official post code of Creative Innovative Zone is PR1 2HE, SatNav users should use the following post code for the exact location of the building: PR1 2XY.

From the Railway Station Exit the Station across the footbridge and Platform 6 onto Butler Street (opposite TKMax). Turn left up to the traffic lights. Corporation Street is facing you at these lights(slightly to your right). Continue to the next set of traffic lights and follow directions from the Ring Road (below).

Map:

Creative Innovation Zone is listed as The Media Factory (ME) on this map:

http://www.uclan.ac.uk/visit/assets/preston_city_campus_map.pdf

The recommended car park is Walker Street pay & display car park (Walker Street, Preston, PR1 2HF), indicated with a grey ‘p’ on the campus map and is approximately 6-7 minutes’ walk from the venue.

When you reach the Media Factory, if you take the lift in reception to the 4th floor, the Creative Innovation Zone is on the right as you exit the lift and if you take the stairs near the main entrance, the Creative Innovation Zone will be in front of you when you reach the fourth floor.

From the beginning of December, Friargate will close at its junction with Hope Street, Moor Lane will close at its junction with Adelphi Place and Walker Street will close outside Sanctuary Student Accommodation. There will be no access from these routes through the Adelphi Roundabout.

All businesses on all affected roads will remain open as usual with full pedestrian access available.

Alternative routes will be available around the Adelphi roundabout for cyclists, pedestrians and residents wanting to access Adelphi Street, Friargate, Moor Lane and Walker Street. Where relevant, cyclists should dismount and follow pedestrian routes. Pedestrian routes will remain largely unchanged from the current diversions, with the exception of the removal of the footpath in front of the Student Centre site, linking the corner of the Adelphi Pub with Fylde Road. Please see this map for more details.

Alternative bus routes and timetables have already been established but users should contact their local bus companies for further details before the start of the new phase of works.
