About this event
Join Plan International UK and partners She Is Not Your Rehab for a unique event to celebrate the launch of an empowering new book for children, and be part of a movement to end the cycles of violence being witnessed and experienced by our children.
This Is Not Yours to Carry is the debut children’s book written by Sarah Brown with Matt Brown, founders of the global anti-violence movement She Is Not Your Rehab (SINYR). Originating in New Zealand, SINYR was created to address and dismantle the cycles of intergenerational trauma, violence and abuse, by promoting safe relationships and providing support for individuals and communities.
Created for a new generation of cycle breakers and illustrated by their eldest daughter, Oceana Olsen, this empowering story follows Tai and children like him as they learn that some burdens are not theirs to carry.
Plan International UK are delighted to welcome SINYR back to Wales and celebrate the launch of this powerful book that shares a message of hope, healing and freedom for children living in violence. We are pleased to announce that the Welsh Government will be distributing 1000 copies of This Is Not Yours to Carry to refuges across Wales.
Join us for this special event and:
- Get a copy of the brand new book for children aged 5-11 years, and learn how you can promote healing and anti-violence in a sensitive and child-friendly manner.
- Hear the powerful story of how a New Zealand barber grew a global anti-violence movement and as part of their mission, SINYR are raising funds to donate 125,000+ hardcover copies of the book to children who have experienced family violence.
- Learn how Plan International UK are leading a journey of change for boys and young men in Wales to overcome negative gender roles, eradicate violence in our communities, and promote healing and change.
This event is suitable for professionals and people with lived experience working with children in early years, key stage one and key stage two, including educators, youth professionals, therapists and counsellors, wellbeing practitioners, and those with an interest in tackling violence.
This event is free to attend and refreshments will be provided – tickets are limited so book now to avoid disappointment.

This Is Not Yours To Carry: Achlysur Lansio Llyfr Amser Brecwast
Noddir gan Heledd Fychan ASNoddir gan Heledd Fychan AS
Ymunwch â Plan International UK a’u partneriaid She Is Not Your Rehab am ddigwyddiad unigryw i ddathlu lansiad llyfr grymuso newydd i blant, ac i fod yn rhan o fudiad i roi terfyn ar y cylchoedd trais mae ein plant yn eu gweld ac yn eu profi.
This Is Not Yours to Carry ydy’r llyfr plant cyntaf i gael ei ysgrifennu gan Sarah Brown gyda Matt Brown, sylfaenwyr y mudiad gwrth-drais byd-eang She Is Not Your Rehab (SINYR). Gyda’i wreiddiau yn Seland Newydd, cafodd SINYR ei greu i drafod a datgymalu’r cylchoedd trawma, trais a chamdriniaeth rhwng y cenedlaethau, trwy hybu perthnasoedd diogel a chynnig cefnogaeth i unigolion a chymunedau.
Mae’r stori hon o rymuso, sydd wedi’i chreu am genhedlaeth newydd sy’n chwalu’r cylchoedd a’i darlunio gan eu merch hynaf, Oceana Olsen, yn dilyn Tai a phlant tebyg iddo wrth iddyn nhw ddysgu nad eu cyfrifoldeb nhw yw cario rhai beichiau.
Mae Plan International UK wrth eu bodd i groesawu SINYR yn ôl i Gymru a dathlu lansiad y llyfr grymus hwn sy’n rhannu neges o obaith, gwellhad a rhyddid i blant sy’n byw mewn trais. Mae’n bleser gennym gyhoeddi y bydd Llywodraeth Cymru yn dosbarthu 1000 o gopïau o This Is Not Yours to Carry i lochesi ledled Cymru.
Ymunwch â ni am y digwyddiad arbennig hwn a:
- Chael copi o’r llyfr newydd sbon i blant 5-11 blwydd oed, a dysgu sut allwch chi hyrwyddo iacháu a gwrth-drais mewn ffordd sensitif ac addas i blant.
- Clywed y stori rymus o sut tyfodd barbwr yn Seland Newydd yn fudiad gwrth-drais byd-eang ac fel rhan o’u cenhadaeth, mae SINYR yn codi arian i roi 125,000+ o gopïau clawr caled o’r llyfr i blant sydd wedi dioddef trais teuluol.
- Dysgu sut mae Plan International UK yn arwain taith o newid i fechgyn a dynion ifanc yng Nghymru i oresgyn rolau rhywedd negyddol, dileu trais yn ein cymunedau, a hyrwyddo gwellhad a newid.
Mae’r digwyddiad hwn yn addas i weithwyr proffesiynol a phobl â phrofiad byw o weithio gyda phlant yn y blynyddoedd cynnar, cyfnod allweddol un a chyfnod allweddol dau, gan gynnwys addysgwyr, gweithwyr ieuenctid proffesiynol, therapyddion a chwnselwyr, ymarferwyr llesiant, a’r sawl sy’n ymddiddori mewn mynd i’r afael â thrais.
Mae’r digwyddiad hwn yn rhad ac am ddim i’w fynychu a bydd lluniaeth yn cael ei darparu – mae tocynnau’n gyfyngedig felly archebwch nawr i osgoi siom.
