Join Blue Cabin for the day to explore how and why music-making supports attachment and development for babies and children.

This session will be led by Blue Cabin Associate Artists Carol Bowden and Katie Doherty, the musicians working on This is the Place (a programme developed especially for care-experienced babies and children in Darlington and Redcar).

We are delighted to be hosting this session in partnership with Theatre Hullabaloo.

Who is this training for?

Early Years practitioners, musicians, foster carers, SEND practitioners, people working with care experienced families.

What will be covered:

Hello Song - why we use this song to allow children to claim the space, be acknowledged, welcomed and identified.
How Children Learn Through Music - using singing, pulse, rhythm and repetition to support development.
Sing for health and healthy relationships -Singing lowers cortisol and relieves stress and tension.
Puppets - the emotional response.
Song Bag - using songs for speech, language and communication, positive behaviour management strategies and songwriting.
Why Do Children Move So Much? - the theory behind physical development.
Movement Through Lycra and Props - relationship building through music and movement.
The Power of Lullabies - how to use music to calm and relax.
Sound Bath - how sound can help calm, soothe and heal.
