Frequently asked questions
The retreat for women at all stages of menopause (perimenopause, menopause and post menopause).
There can be many reasons including cost and time. You may not have available funds to spend on a multi day retreat or the available time. We do plan on running multi day retreats, they will encompass all the information from the day retreats.
The retreat days are limited in terms of numbers, however, depending on the number booked on we may split into two smaller groups for the morning and afternoon sessions. Either way we will have two sessions in the morning and two in the afternoon, with a lunch break and two short comfort breaks.
A yoga mat or something similar like a exercise or camping mat. if you do not have access to one please let us know. Wear anything that is comfortable to move and stretch in, it does not need to be gym wear. Be happy and comfy! A pen/pencil and a note pad may also be useful.
There will be overnight oats and refreshments on arrival. Refreshments will available all day for your comfort. If you require something different to what is provided there other drinks available to purchase. There will be a grazing board at lunch time with cookies and seeded bars as a sweet treat.
Absolutely, you can come alone or with friends/partner. The only rule around who can come is that they are at some point of their menopause journey.
Yin yoga is only one session of the day. It is based on stretching the body which helps to maintain bone health as well as reducing stress. It is your choice to join in that session or not, we want all clients to feel comfortable. If you have mobility issues please let us know.
We will focus on self care and strategies/tools to support the most common symptoms of menopause. There will be an emphasise on the impact of menopause on our mental health.
Absolutely, please bear in mind we are not medically trained so we fully encourage you to discuss further any treatment options with your GP.
Nicola (Niki) Longson - Retreat Leader - PGDip in Counselling and Psychotherapy; Wellbeing Coaching Qualification; Menopause Coach and member of the BACP/ Molly Longson - Retreat Assistant and Social Media Manager/ Guest expert - Charlotte Gleave - Yin Yoga Teacher, training ongoing :)
There will be a time at the end of the day for questions and we would encourage you to write down any questions as you go through the day. We will be around to chat during breaks and lunch as well. One-on-one sessions are something we are looking to do during weekend retreats in the future.
Yes, you will have contact information in the booklet that we will produce for you to take home. We all have social media that you are welcome to follow and look forward to meeting you both at the retreat and in the future.
£187 with everything you need for the day included, free parking and a fabulous location.
The maximum number is 30. For any numbers above 15 we will split into two groups for the morning and afternoon sessions. This ensures that the sessions feel personal and everyone gets a chance to contribute and ask questions. The venue is large enough to easily accommodate us all.
Payment is due in full upon booking. If you cancel up until 18th September you will receive 50% of the cost back, if you cancel after this date there will be no refund. However, if we can sell your place onto another client we will refund 75% of the cost.
