To celebrate the final Wednesday Late opening, textile and performance artist Enam Gbewonyo presents her response to the exhibition. Enam’s piece centres on Alice Kettle’s work ‘Three Caryatids’, and is both an ode to and healing restoration of the female form's fluidity, power and softness. The performance will last 10 minutes and will be repeated at 7.30pm.

Please note this is not a seated performance. It will take place within the exhibition space and the exhibition will be open to view until 9pm.

British Ghanaian artist Enam Gbewonyo (b.1980, London) studied BA European Textile Design at Bradford School of Art and Design. She then embarked on a six year career in knitwear design in New York but following redundancy, returned to the UK where her life as an artist began. Gbewonyo’s practice investigates identity, womanhood, and humanity through the mediums of textiles and performance. She also promotes handcraft, using processes like embroidery, knit, weave, print and wirework. Gbewonyo has exhibited with galleries and institutions such as; ART X Lagos, Carl Freedman Gallery, Tafeta Gallery, Bonhams, Gallery 46 Whitechapel, New Ashgate Gallery, Sulger-Buel Lovell Gallery and Artist Project Contemporary Art Fair, Toronto. She has delivered performances for Christie’s, Hogan Lovells LLP, Henry Moore Institute and as part of the collateral programme for the opening week of the 58th edition of Venice Biennale.
