The Geffrye Museum is hosting Thresholds, a one-day event exploring how identity is constructed in relation to architecture, homes and domesticity, from a feminist perspective. Drawing upon the Museum's research into the history of London's poor and elderly, the event will feature film screenings alongside tours of the Almshouses and specialist talks. Thresholds aims to foster an understanding of how spaces develop, project and limit an individual’s potential and identity. Drawing attention to architectural and domestic concerns that are often overlooked or taken for granted, the screenings, in combination with the Almshouse tours and talks, will foreground spaces that have historically been dismissed; reclaiming the labour of the home, and celebrating women’s agency.
Tickets: £10 inc VAT for the whole day, with 3 options of which tour you want to go on and both films.
