Join Madeline Dyer for a workshop all about thriller writing. We’ll be looking at genre expectations, narrative structures, character formations, pacing, and tension. This is a writing-based workshop where Madeline will lead guided free-writes and prompt-based work, so please make sure you come prepared to write! Participants are invited to share their work for respectful critiques but it is not required.

This workshop is appropriate for writers of all levels, and participants may use it for writing adult or YA stories.

About the instructor: Madeline Dyer is a creative writing teacher and the author of thirteen novels, a poetry collection, and numerous short stories. Her debut novel won the 2017 SIBA award for Best Dystopian Novel and her latest YA release, Spirit of Fire, has been nominated for a 2021 Cybils award. She is founder of YA Thriller Con.
