Description

This conference will serve as the launch of an approach to tackling poverty and making Gateshead a place where everybody thrives. You can find out more about this by visiting www.gateshead.gov.uk/ipledge

Poverty affects too many people and the impact on individuals, families and communities can be devastating, it’s time to stop this and create sustainable change to benefit everyone.

With key note speakers Dr Deborah Harrison (North East Child Poverty Commission), Mike Hawking (Joseph Rowntree Foundation) and Jackie Beeley (Gateshead Foodbank) already confirmed, we can together find better ways of supporting local workers and residents, and establish a commitment to work together for the benefit of local people.

The outcome of the day will shape a new and dynamic approach to tackling poverty in Gateshead, a place based approach bringing together major stakeholders, partners and residents to deliver the solutions to this long standing issue. The views and experience of everybody involved will be key to future success and positive change.
