The museum’s new Director, Xavier Bray in discussion with pianist Iain Burnside will consider Spanish painters and composers and their influences on European culture. The evening will begin with a drinks reception from 7pm prior to the concert starting at 7.30pm. The paintings of Murillo and Velazquez in the Collection’s Great Gallery are the setting for music performed by award winning soprano Natalya Romaniw and acclaimed tenor Luis Gomes and featuring composers Granados, Mompou, Scarlatti, Debussy, and Walton. The evening will be an opportunity to meet the Collection’s new Director, a specialist in Spanish painting, and to enjoy the distinctiveness and quality of the country’s music. The Wallace Restaurant remains open for dinner following the concert and will be offering a
special Spanish menu.
